You Never Know What Treasures You’ll Find

If you’ve ever watched Storage Wars, you know that people find all sorts of goodies in abandoned storage units. The units get auctioned off without being opened and the new owners get to discover whether they’ve found a treasure or junk. Sometimes, they get lucky and find antiquities or art, but one person got something she hadn’t bargained for. Instead of clothes or old magazines, she found an antique vibrator.

Actually, a lot of the antique vibrators in our collection were found at garage sales or in attics. I once had a lovely conversation with an electrician who bought one for a dollar at an estate sale and when he rewired it, the motor still worked. He dropped it off at our store and we’ve been proud to take care of it ever since!

In face, we have so many now that we created the Antique Vibrator Museum! You can take a look at these amazing gadgets- from hand crank and pneumatic examples from the late 1800’s, to some amazing bakelite vibes, to a few that look pretty much like vibes do today. We have the history of the vibrator from a medical device to treat hysteria, all the way to the pleasure toys we know and love.
