Vibrator Hysteria

A friend of mine found something rather interesting this morning in the form of an article and movie trailer. The name of the movie is ‘Hysteria‘ and it is apparently not a documentary.I just had to share this!

The sex geek in me is screaming with joy right now! The movie explores an ailment that 19th century women were once said to suffer from called hysteria that included a wide array of symptoms such as faintness, nervousness, insomnia, fluid retention, heaviness in abdomen, muscle spasm, shortness of breath, irritability, loss of appetite for food or sex, and “a tendency to cause trouble”.

Treatment of hysteria was generally pelvic massage. This basically meant that the doctor would rub your goodies until you had an orgasm. I can’t imagine having to go see a medical professional for an orgasm! However, back then, that is the way it was apparently done. The movie, titled ‘Hysteria’ appropriately, explores this part of history. It’s about time that someone recognized the need for a movie out of the phenomenon that swept the earth when a doctor somewhere took note that women needed a little extra something to achieve orgasm!

Frankly, if I had to go to the doctor and pay him to give me an orgasm that my husband or love should have been giving me, I’d be hysterical, too!

Without further ado, you can watch the trailer for this movie here.
