New Research on Sexual Wellness for LGBTQQI Communities
Sexual wellness is an important determinant of quality of life and a human right.
Here’s a New Research on Sexual Wellness for LGBTQQI Communities:
A big part of sexual wellness is the ability to engage in satisfying sexual activity. People from LGBTQQI communities have been under-represented in sexual wellness research. Furthermore, LGBTQQI persons may encounter barriers to culturally-competent sexual wellness healthcare.
Recently, Dr. Alan Shindel (assistant professor in the department of urology at the University of California, Davis) and his collaborators at UCSF have published the results of a series of surveys on sexual wellness and dysfunction in women who have sex with women and men who have sex with men. During this two hour session Dr. Shindel will present his research, discuss possible future research, and be available to answer questions about sexual function, sexual wellness research, and how it pertains to LGBTQQI persons.
