Is The World Ready For Mood Clothing?

It’s pretty amazing to see all of the new developments in tech, and as is often the case, somebody is looking for ways to make them sexy.

CNET.com posted an article yesterday about the Intimacy 2.0, a dress created by Dutch design group Studio Roosegaarde and artistic research and development institute V2_ Lab. It’s made of strips of leather and smart e-foils that turn transparent in response to the wearer’s heart rate. The idea is that the more turned on you are, the more transparent it becomes.

Now, this is obviously just the beginning of this sort of thing. After all, heart rates can increase in response to a lot of different situations. Can you imagine getting into an argument or having a startling noise happen and finding that your clothes have become transparent? On the other hand, depending on how they calibrate the sensitivity, it would be a lot of fun to wear something like this at Folsom Street Fair or a sex party. And it just seems tailor made for Burning Man.

Here’s a semi NSFW video they made, to show how it works.
