Lady Porn Day!

I like porn! I thoroughly enjoy erotic art, sexually explicit photographs, cartoons, movies and even the cheesy animated GIF here and there.

In my early teenage years I watched the porn that my guy friends liked, or rather that their older brothers and fathers liked and we got to sneak peaks of. I distinctly remember thinking, uh, lame. Not gross, or ew, just wow, that’s so fucking fake, what is the point? I reasoned if that is porn, then I guess I don’t like it.

So, like a lot of girls I knew, I gave up on the visual stimuli and plunged headfirst into romance novels. I would often scout out the explicit scenes, dog-ear the page (or pages if it was a good one) and re-read just those bits over and over. But I wasn’t that excited about the books themselves. The story lines and characters in the novels were so lame.

It was like on one end there was the liquor store racks of craptastic Playboy/Hustler/Penthouse imagery and on the other end was the grocery store shelves stocked with V.C. Andrews/Harlequin/Warner historical romance novels. It was an obvious gender binary: men went to the liquor store and women went to the grocery store. Men like porn, women liked novels. Either source readily available along with your favorite candy bar or malt beverage.

My first porn purchase was the audio version of The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice. I was 18 and this, this was what I wanted to fall asleep to at night.

Fast forward 15 years, and there is an amazing amount of awesome porn that my pansexual self can get off to:

I adore everything Shine Louise Houston does… everything! Have yet to see Crash Pad 6, but I’m so looking forward to it.

Courtney Trouble’s DIY porn makes me so very happy and horny! And her new Queer Porn TV is working it’s way into my heart as well.

There is the new Salacious Magazine that is all kinds of queer kinky hotness delivered to my actual physical mailbox in a big manilla envelope.

I’m working with Shilo McCabe on The Sex Positive Photo Project of the SF Bay and her very female eye for the money shot is magic.

And I also want to make a very clear statement that I am happy to pay for my porn. I am totally down with putting my money where I want my mouth to be ;). I want to support the people that make the sexual imagery that I respond to.
