It’s National Masturbation Month!

Back in 1994, when then-Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders was fired for daring to suggest that young people should be taught that masturbation is a great way to reduce sexual risk, Good Vibrations knew that we had to do something. So a few months later, we launched National Masturbation Month, a celebration of self-love.

Almost everyone has done it, but most folks will vigorously deny it. And even among those who will confess to masturbating, many of them think of it as a lesser option or a consolation prize instead of a great way to enjoy yourself, discover your sexual desires and fantasies, and own your sexuality. Here at Good Vibrations, we think that self-love is real love and it’s definitely worth celebrating!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be posting articles, how-to tips, info about some of the best toys for solo fun, and more. Keep an eye out and be sure to celebrate National Masturbation Month, in whatever way you choose!
