An Interview With Gerardo Delgado: Erotic Filmmaker and GV IXFF Finalist

The Good Vibrations Indie Erotic Film Fest is coming soon and we have an amazing lineup of events. Filmmaker Gerardo Delgado spoke with us about his movie La Putiza. It’s one of the finalists that’ll be shown at the Castro Theater on September 22. Get your ticket here!

How did you find out about the GV Indie Erotic Film Fest?

I was invited after Good Vibrations found out about my Mexican Wrestling movies

Tell us a bit about your film. What’s it about? And what inspired you to create it?

La Putiza was my first movie. Ever since I was a teenager, I always wanted to do porn movies. A few years ago, I invited 6 of my best friends to make it happen. We put the talent, the money and love together. We’re all fans of Mexican wrestling, so we decided to do a movie inspired by the films of fighters of the sixties.

The movie is about Diamante, a young inexpert wrestler who wants to become a hero of the ring. The Master offers to give him the mask of the legendary Aztec Dick, filled with powerful and infinite erotic powers that will make him a legend in exchange only if he passes many sexual “tests” in which he will have to come out without spilling one single drop of semen.

Seven minutes or less is a pretty tight limit. What are some of the challenges in creating a short erotic film?

The challenge was that I had to compress two movies that were wach 45 long into in 7 minutes, and keep the story clear, precise and concise. But it turned out incredible and funny.

What’s your background in film or in making erotic films? How does making an erotic film differ from making a non-erotic one?

La Putiza was my first work doing video or movies. After I made it, I started to do other erotic and porn movies, music videos, publicity and commercials. Thanks to porn, I learned howto tell stories through video.

What do you hope audiences will get from your work?

I hope the audience gets excited and have fun at the same time

Who are your performers, and how did you meet them/invite them to participate?

I was fortunate to work with a professional actor in the role of Diamond, the leading role, and that made things much easier. The rest of the crew were guys that we find in bars, clubs, and and manhunt, and some friends that we invited.

What advice would you give to first-time erotic filmmakers, or filmmakers in general?

My only advice is to hear their team, not get stuck on their preconceived ideas, and be aware of changes that can run while shooting. Improvisation helped me a lot.

How does your film reflect your views on sex?

I think as in my film, sex can be fun and there are endless possibilities to revitalize.

Did you discover anything interesting or surprising in the process of making the film?

While I was filming, I realized that everybody has their own fetishes and preferences. Things that I do not provoke me in others can be exciting and vice versa, and be open to try new experiences.

What projects are you working on now/next?

My new movie is called Mexican Corruption. Unfortunately in Mexico, the corruption has invaded even the porn. I am also creating a new website called it will be ready later this year.
